Secret Glow on Your Big Day

The big day is here and you are ready to walk down the aisle. The last thing you thought about was your skin and bloating—but now it's THE thing you're worried about. Let's avoid that worry and get you prepared weeks in advance with a few simple tricks. There are both topical and ingested items that will help you glow.

There are a few things you can do topically that will smooth out facial lines and drain excess fluid. The first is using either a gua sha or your fingers and some rosewater to apply pressure and upward motion to your face specifically where your lymph nodes are in the T-zone and neck. Next would be to press under your eyebrows, cheekbone, and jawline. Another way to debloat would be to do a sauna or a red light face mask first thing in the morning.

What you ingest is also crucial to the debloating process. You need to be eating frequently and small portions throughout the day, especially early on. Most brides easily forget to eat throughout her day and many couples don't even touch their dinner meal! Because of this, it is vital to eat small amounts of fiber, fats, and protein until the ceremony. Lots of brides are scared to drink too much water because of the myth that it leads to bloating but that is not true. As long as you are not consuming too much sodium, water is good and will help with sustained energy and a good mood. Too little water and your body will hold on to it which will cause the opposite of the desired effect—bloating. Health experts also advise drinking celery juice, warm lemon water and whole fruits in the morning to enhance the skin's glow.
